i wrote a blog the other day
does anybody know that way before the word 'blog' existed that a 'blogg' was a character in a dr. seuss book? ........there you have it.......
anyways, i wrote a blog which was expressing my unhappiness with laker fans booing kwame brown.....
anyone can read it if they want
so tonight, i read some responses to my blog
some people liked it
but some people didnt like it all and i find it necessary to respond to those people
the general unhappiness about my blog was this
1.that i am an elitist rock star, who sits in great lakers seats and who does not know the value of a dollar and who am i to tell people who work hard for their money whether not they can boo, when they pay for kwame's huge salary
2. that they deserve to boo kwame because he is not giving them their money's worth and because they think he is terrible
3. that booing kwame will help motivate him and i don't know what i am talking about, and that i know nothing about basketball
my response is this...
first of all, though i may have good laker seats and i love them
i was a laker fan for many years when i could never consider buying
any kind of laker ticket and i felt the same way then
my feelings have nothing to with my good seats or my economic situation
i hated laker fans getting down on the lakers way before i could
afford anything, let alone a laker game ticket
i just get to write a blog now and talk about it
i am not telling anyone to like kwame or any other player
though i personally think kwame can be a valuable player for the
lakers (dont forget he started lots of games for the lakers and
played great d on many good bigs, and he is still getting back
together off his injury this season)
i have good friends who i respect as serious laker fans who really
don't like kwame, i have no problem with that
though, i like kwame, but that is incidental
my philosophy has always been this, as a laker fan, and in the rest
of my life.....
when something is not going well, infusing positive energy into it
is the way to make it better
if we are unhappy with kwame's playing, standing with him and
supporting him is the way to help things get better so we can be less
unhappy
booing him makes it worse............simple as that
being negative, booing, is directed at people that you want to do
poorly, not people you want to do well
i just don't believe in booing the team you love
i love the lakers
another complaint about my blog in general, is that i don't use
punctuation, that i write like a small simple minded child
i am perfectly capable of using punctuation, i choose not to, i like
the way it looks and i like small simple minded children too
go lakers
