playoff report

for some reason it is harder to write about your favorite basketball
team when they are doing great
it all sounds like boring braggadocio
when they are struggling and you do nothing but sing the praises of
their greatness it is fun
and kind of ridiculous
but it gives you something to hold on to
now that they are doing so well
all i have really is a subtle gnawing anxiety that somehow they will
blow it
that they will get arrogant and lazy and blow it
or that just some unexpected malady will strike and they will fall
but the truth is they are a beautiful team
exciting to watch
and awesome from top to bottom
with two great players not even in the mix
the lakers have the best upside of any team in the nba
and i'm not even crazy laker fan flea anymore
it is just true
i'm like a scientific, well researched reporter
kobe just gets better and better
it is stunning to see
i am in laker heaven
god i love it
the sixers out hustle, out efficient, out nosebreak, out everything
the pistons...
what???
the sixers have andre iguodala and who?
geez
looks like the pistons got old quick
old in basketball years comes quick
and this series is not gonna be quick
after d'antoni gave the spurs game one
and the momentum in the series
if i was a suns fan i would never love him again
the suns window is closed
phil said it earlier in the year and it is true despite nash's futile
rebuttalcgngn
it is not shak's fault
and i am no shak fan, i would blame it on him if i could
but that team has just ran out of chemistry and they have great players
the window is closed, the run of the new millennium in phoenix is over
and that fast break style can never win a championship
and just getting shak ain't gonna make for a halfcourt team
you can't turn a grey hound into an english mastiff in a couple of
months
old dog new trick blah blah blah
with the jazz and the rockets
ya know i don't particularly care for either of those teams
the jazz got kyle korver...(hmmmm.......surprise surprise!)
i like tmac as much as the next guy and would like to see him win
but really i just want those guys to beat the heck out of each other
so when (assuming they beat the nuggets get out of the first round,
no looking past the nuggets) one of them face the lakers they are
weary as can be
same with hornets mavs
just let those series go on and on
triple overtime, flagrant fouls, emotional turmoil....
go lakers
the thing that really irks me about these playoffs
and i just can't make sense of it
is that the golden state warriors win nearly 48 games and they are
not allowed to compete for a championship
and they are competing in a very tough conference
yet the atlanta hawks, who compete in a much easier less competitive
conference
play on national tv against the mighty celtics and have the
opportunity to compete for a championship
the system is wrong it needs to be fixed
and if i were the warriors i would be bummed
anyways
i am having a great time watching the playoffs
it is intense
it is wild
and the level of play is amazing
go lakers
