Flea's Playoff Update
Apr 29, 2008

once again i am too blown away and ecstatic over the lakers play to
even say anything about their sweeping of the nuggets i kind of felt bad for the nuggets
mostly for allen iverson for whom i have a great deal of respect
but that team really showed a complete lack of chemistry and unity
when it counted
i love a.i. though.......
carmelo seems to be a troubled man, i would hope for him to be a
happy productive man, he is an amazingly talented basketball player
the lakers are simply playing beautifully
on every level
kobe is just blowing minds
the guy amazes me every time it never gets old
he is a true leader
the celtics drop 2 in a row to the atlanta hawks who made it into the
playoffs with 35 wins
ya know, in the beginning of the season i really thought that the
celtics were unbeatable
that they would most likely win the championship
that was of course, before the lakers really jelled
but from about a quarter of the way through the season i had a
thought about this celtic team
they have the three great players, k.g, ray allen, and paul pierce
these guys have all been great players on losing teams for their
whole careers and they are all veterans
this would i thought, serve them in the regular season, because their
egos would not get the best of them
they are humbled by their years of defeat, and are so grateful by
this incredible opportunity that they have
that they will think team first and never rest on their laurels or be
arrogant and blow it
but by that same token, come playoff time...
NONE OF THESE GUYS HAVE EVER WON ANYTHING IN THE NBA
and the question remains..........do they know how to win in the
post season
is there a single player on the celtics , besides sam cassell, who
knows how to win in the post season
the depth of that question has been widened and deepened yesterday
evening in atlanta
garnett, pierce, and allen, need to do something they have never
done.....
can they deal with it?
who knows, not i said the little blueberry pie
but gage freeman said very early in the season "they are peaking to
early they wont make it in the playoffs"
go lakers
