A brit Q Magazine 275. sz�m�ban Chad megint nyilatkozott arr�l, hogy nem oszlottak fel, csak sz�netelnek:

"Currently on tour with rock supergroup Chickenfoot, Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith spoke exclusively to Q. "No we haven't split up," he insists "We're not playing right now, but shit, man, we played a lot. It was time to take a little break and live your life. We're not some conveyorbelt".

However Smith confirmed that: "Everybody's kind of doing their own thing right now" but Smith claims the band - also including guitarist John Frusciante- are planning to "reconvene at the end of September or October". 'We make music when it feels right you cant force people to do stuff. If you're not feeling it, so why do it? Do other thing and come back to it re-energised"

"None of the analogue synths would sync properly.

The kit was insane, we had it set up for a few days for them to rehearse and it just all went wrong. We had drivers bringing every 101, 303, 606, 707, 808, 909 in from every hire company in London and it just wouldn't work with what they were trying to do. We even pulled loads of synths apart and re-soldered them through the night with an expert whose job it is to build synths! I'm not overly technical so I spoke to Ceephax and Vibert to get them to explain things, basically what they want to do is well hardcore when using 80s synths with current computer stuff.

A few tears, a few hugs, some cups of tea/coffee and we decided to move on and try again asap. As we all know John came as a raver in 2008 and wants to have the SDM show in the BF environment. He also said that he'd spent 6 months on this set and he sees each old synth as a separate instrument with a soul. He was also totally gutted to miss most of the rave! We just have to all wait for this one."

“Ronnie wanted Flea. I wanted Glen Matlock. Rod (Stewart) wanted his guy from his band. I was thinking why not get Glen Matlock to do it because his whole career is based around Ronnie Lane. He started playing to Small Faces and Faces songs. He gets it but I don’t think Flea does. Flea is great with the Chili Peppers. It is a different thing”.

Supergroup koncert 2009.04.25. 10:22

Most vas�rnap a Berklee Performance Center-ben rendeznek egy 'Supergroup j�t�konys�gi koncertet' a Right Turn nonprofit drogkezel�ssel foglalkoz� szervezet megseg�t�s�re, ahol Chad is fell�p olyan el�ad�kkal, mint Alice Cooper, Ace Frehly (KISS) �s Simon Kirke (Bad Company). A BMS Woody Giessmann-nel, a szervezet alap�t�j�val �s �gyvezet� igazgat�j�val besz�lt az esem�nyr�l:

"Who doesn't love a good Alice song? And we'll be pulling out some great stuff. I'll be playing with Chad Smith on some Bad Company stuff, it's gonna be great. There's nothing like a Bad Company song man. Chad's a powerhouse, Simon totally cracks me up, he said that playing drums up against Chad Smith is like pissing up against Niagra Falls."

"He's the little love of my life, that boy, and I feel very lucky to be his dad. You can't really care about yourself as much as you used to. It kind of takes the focus off yourself, which for me is a good thing. It also gives me a cool guy to hang out with. Everly is the best roommate I ever had. He's just a good hang. He's funny. A j�niusi Guitar World c�mlapj�n a Chickenfoot van, a cikkben Chad besz�l a banda sz�net�r�l, Johnr�l �s arr�l, hogy visszat�rne-e a band�ba, ha az �j "szupercsapat" befutna. Az interj� alatt legink�bb a t�bbi Chickenfoot tag besz�lt, itt a r�szlet, amit Chad az el�bb eml�tett dolgokr�l mondott:

GW: Chad, last we spoke, you said you had a ytear clear to pursue other things, Yet, when I spoke with John Frusciante recently....

Chad: Oh, how did that go?

GW: It was...interesting

Chad: He's an interesting guy (laughs) He's in his own world

GW: He did tell me however, that there were "no plans" for the Chili Peppers at all. I took that very litarally, as in you guys might not be getting back together.

Chad: The status is that we've been on a break for a year and whatever. I can't speak for John: he's doing his own thing. I when when the Chili Peppers are ready to play, we'll play. I'm not naming names, i'm just saying we'll do it again when we want to. We have to feel it. I don't have a time frame. I thought it was going to be a year off, now it looks like it could be longer. Maybe it'll be two years, maybe longer.

GW: If Chickenfoot is a smash, would that make going back to the Chili Peppers harder for you?

Chad: Well, I still love playing with those guys, and I have tremendous loyalty to them. But hmmmm, to be n two hit bands at once...wow, what a choice (laughs).
